We Exist to Serve, Not to Profit

Our Story

A Commitment Born from Loss, Sustained by Purpose

Elara Foundation began as a deeply personal act of tribute. When Shri Rajendra Bhatt — founder of Elara Capital — lost his father, Shri Leeladhar Bhatt, he chose to honour that memory not with stone or ceremony, but with sustained, meaningful action. In 2002, he established the Dr. Leeladhar Bhatt Memorial Kalyan Samiti — a registered NGO based in Haldwani, Uttarakhand — as the ground-level vehicle for the Foundation's mission. From the very beginning, the model was clear: Elara Capital would absorb all operational costs, so that every rupee raised went directly to communities in need.

"Beyond boardrooms, Raj is deeply committed to social responsibility — championing transformative initiatives in education, healthcare, women's empowerment, and animal welfare across underserved communities in India."

Our Mission

Creating lasting, positive change

To create lasting, positive change by supporting initiatives that uplift communities, empower individuals, and build a more inclusive, equitable world. All administrative costs are borne by Elara Capital — ensuring every rupee benefits people directly.

Our Vision

A helping hand to all

To extend a helping hand to individuals, organisations, and groups alike — catalysing impactful initiatives that address diverse challenges and contribute to community betterment across education, healthcare, women's empowerment, animal welfare, and skill development.

What We Stand For

Our Core Values

These are not aspirations — they are the principles by which every decision we make is measured.

Total Transparency

Every rupee is accounted for. We publish what we do, how we do it, and what it achieves — because trust is the foundation of everything.

Selfless Service

Inspired by Gandhian values and the legacy of Shri Leeladhar Bhatt — we serve without expectation of recognition or return.

Community First

Every programme begins with listening. We follow the community's lead — not donor agendas or top-down mandates.

Sustainable Impact

We invest in programmes that build lasting capability — not quick wins. Change that endures is the only change worth pursuing.

Dignity Always

Every beneficiary is a person with rights, aspirations, and dignity — never a statistic, never a photo opportunity.

Collaborative Spirit

We amplify impact by partnering with proven organisations — across India and the UK — united by a shared commitment to change.

How We Work

The Zero-Overhead Model

Three simple steps — and the result is that 100% of every donated rupee reaches the people who need it.

01

Elara Capital Funds Operations

All salaries, infrastructure, travel, and administrative costs are fully borne by Elara Capital — removing overhead from the equation entirely.

02

Donations Go Directly to Partners

Funds raised are channelled directly to our vetted partner NGOs — across India and the UK — without deduction.

03

Impact Is Measured & Reported

Results are tracked, documented, and shared transparently — because accountability to donors and beneficiaries is non-negotiable.

Leadership

The People Behind the Purpose

Three trustees. Three decades of combined expertise across finance, philanthropy, animal welfare and community development.
